BIBLE VERSES TO HELP MASTER FORGIVENESS
Hebrews 12:15 says 'See to it that no-one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many'.
I think that this verse is very powerful: it says that we need to resolve problems, forgive & forget and not hold grudges. If we don't these things, our bitterness will take over and that will lead us to act in horrible ways which does not come from God. However, doing these things leads us to grace, happiness, joy and lets us stay in control of our emotions, rather than growing like a wild plant.
Job 11:16 says 'you will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by'. This says that with forgiveness, your troubles will stay in the past and leave you. If you decide to hold this grudge, you will hinder your own growth, and it will act like a burden in your mind.
1 Corinthians 13:8 says 'Love never fails'. The author of our story tells us that Love never fails. How great and beautiful is that! The Bible is made up of 66 love stories, by which not a single one fails us. Instead, each book, each chapter and each verse is knitted together to create the Bible because each man who crafted this book of life loved the same God, and that same God loved them even more. The books are bound together by love, and that is why the individual who lives for Christ never fails. It is also why with God, all things are possible (Matthew's words exactly). It is this love that allows God to forgive us, and so we should love too, so we can forgive too.
BIBLE VERSES TO HELP WITH ANXIETY & FEAR
1 John 4:18-19 says this: ' There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he loved us first'.
This is probably one of my favourites. The message behind it is that with God in our hearts, we should fear nothing. God loves us so perfectly, he will always protect us. He loves us so much, he sacrificed his only begotten son (' We love because he loved us first') to save us and give us an eternity of peace. God is love.
Romans 8:38-39 says 'For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the presents nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord'. I have picked this part of Romans because of the strong message it conveys: God is more powerful than any of your troubles. God is the light, the joy, the love, the happiness and everything positive in your life comes from God. Knowing God is always by your side and building a relationship with him will make you far stronger than the evil in this world. God beats anxious feelings always.
